Laptech (operating as VFX Rental Solutions, "Laptech", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use vfxrental.in or enquire about our hardware rental services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We only collect information you actively share with us. Specifically:
- Enquiry details — name, company, email, phone number and a brief about your rental requirement, submitted via our quote form, WhatsApp, email or phone.
- Rental records — for active rentals, we retain delivery address, billing details, signed agreements and service tickets.
- Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) for security and troubleshooting. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your rental enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To deliver, support and invoice active rentals.
- To improve our service — internal analytics on which products are enquired about, what configurations are most common.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations under Indian law.
We do not sell your information, ever. We do not share your details with any third party except where strictly required to deliver a service to you (e.g. shipping partners for delivery) or comply with a legal request.
3. WhatsApp & form submissions
Our quote form sends your enquiry to our official WhatsApp number (+91 91528 20016). The message is delivered through Meta's WhatsApp service, which has its own data-handling terms. We retain the conversation for the duration of our business relationship plus the period required by Indian tax law.
4. Cookies
This site uses minimal functional cookies for the purposes of remembering scroll progress and reduced-motion preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioural tracking pixels, or remarketing tags.
5. Data security
Enquiry data is stored in access-controlled systems. Active-rental records are kept in our internal CRM with role-based access. We use industry-standard practices — TLS in transit, encrypted storage, multi-factor authentication on staff accounts.
6. Data retention
- Enquiries that don't progress to rental — retained for 12 months, then deleted.
- Active and past rentals — retained for 8 years to comply with Indian tax & accounting requirements.
- Server logs — rotated and discarded within 90 days.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data, subject to any legal retention obligations on our side.
- Stop contacting you (other than service messages for active rentals).
Email rentals@laptech.co.in with the subject "Privacy request" and we'll respond within 7 business days.
8. Children
Our services are aimed at studios and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
